Araucaria araucana            Monkey Puzzle Tree

CHILEAN PINE    A medium to large sized coniferous tree with unusual, whorled, dark green branches with a long, spidery effect.  Large female cones look like pineapples and contain edible seeds.  Found growing native from the volcanic slopes on the Chilean side of the Andes, into Argentina.  Evergreen.    Zones 7-10
